What SerucellBio is. What it is not.

SerucellBio Inc. is the scientific and intellectual property foundation of the KFS® technology ecosystem. Its mandate is the integrity of the science — not its commercialization.

Serucell Skincare Inc. is a separate company that holds the commercial license for KFS® and is responsible for all sales, marketing, and distribution — both direct-to-consumer (B2C) and business-to-business (B2B). The two-entity structure is intentional: scientific integrity and commercial incentive must remain separate.

SerucellBio does not respond to product inquiries. It does not sell ingredients, formulations, or licenses directly. Those functions live at serucell.com.

SerucellBio is

The R&D organization

Develops, protects, and validates the science. Commissions independent clinical studies. Conducts proteomic characterization. Holds the patents.

SerucellBio is not

A product company

Does not sell products, engage in marketing, or handle commercial distribution. Serucell Skincare Inc. is a separate company responsible for all B2C and B2B sales, marketing, and distribution of KFS® products.

SerucellBio is

The standard administrator

Administers the ISS Standard. Defines qualification criteria. Holds the scientific definitions.

SerucellBio is not

A marketing entity

Makes no consumer-facing claims. Does not create advertising. Does not position products. Scientific communication only.

Five patents. Two frameworks. One manufacturing process.

The KFS® stress-induction co-culture process is protected by five granted U.S. patents held by SerucellBio Inc. These patents cover the methodology by which keratinocytes and fibroblasts are co-cultured under physiological stress to produce the repair-phase secretome.

No other entity holds rights to this process. The patents are verifiable via the USPTO public database. Patent information is available upon request from qualified parties.

5
Granted U.S. Patents

Covering the stress-induction co-culture manufacturing process behind KFS®. The methodology — deliberate physiological stress of a keratinocyte-fibroblast co-culture to trigger repair-phase secretion — is the core protected innovation.

Patent holder: SerucellBio Inc., 803 10th Street, Huntington, WV 25701.
Granted U.S. patents: 9,907,745; 9,974,813; 10,253,334; 10,533,191; 11,299,756 — verifiable via the USPTO public patent database. Contact [email protected] for patent information.

Scientific Frameworks Administered

Intelligent Skin Signaling (ISS) Standard

A four-criterion qualification framework for conditioned media cosmetic ingredients. Requires: multi-cell co-culture, stress-induced secretion, INCI registration, and clinical characterization. All four criteria must be demonstrated. As of 2026, KFS® is the only qualifying ingredient.

KFS® — Human Keratinocyte Fibroblast Saline Conditioned Media

INCI-registered cosmetic ingredient produced by SerucellBio Inc. through the patented stress-induction co-culture process. 962-protein co-culture secretome. 385 emergent proteins. Characterized by mass spectrometry proteomics and validated in a 12-week controlled clinical study.

Dr. Walter D. Neto, M.D. Founder & Chief Scientist — Board-Certified Wound Specialist (CWSP)

Dr. De Paula Neto is the developer of the stress-induction co-culture manufacturing process behind KFS®. His medical career was built in the most demanding proving ground — chronic wounds, burns, inflamed barriers, and skin that had failed to heal. Through early research spanning oncology biology, tissue architecture engineering, burns, graft-free wound modeling, and stem-cell signaling science, a consistent theme emerged: skin repairs itself because cells communicate, not simply because they grow faster.

That insight became the foundation of the KFS® manufacturing methodology — deliberately stressing a keratinocyte-fibroblast co-culture to trigger repair-phase secretion. The protocol was refined over more than a decade of iterative process development and is now protected by five granted U.S. patents held by SerucellBio Inc. His contribution is not the discovery of keratinocyte-fibroblast communication — that biology is established in the literature. His contribution is the manufacturing process that captures it at consistent quality and biological character.

Dr. Brett Jarrell, M.D. FACEP Founder — Quality, Compliance & Regulatory Integrity

Dr. Jarrell practices Emergency Medicine in Pikeville, Kentucky — medicine's highest-pressure decision environment, where precision and variance intolerance are not optional. That background directly shapes his role at SerucellBio: ensuring that every aspect of KFS® production, sourcing, and claim-making meets the standard required for the science to be trusted at scale.

His responsibilities span quality control across KFS® production processes, validation of sourcing and donor matching, variance limits, and production consistency. He ensures cosmetic claims remain compliant, defensible, and safely within regulatory boundaries — and oversees QC infrastructure for clinician, retail, and consumer distribution channels.

The principle is straightforward: the future of high-performance skincare will not belong to the loudest chemistry. It will belong to the chemistry that signals clean and survives QC clean.
